The Lord is Good

ALL THE TIME!! We have had a great year this year at our house. The Lord blessed us with our beautiful little girl, Alyssa Marie, on May 10, 2006. She is such a happy little girl and always has a smile to share. The Lord has definitely been good to us through everything that we have been through with her. At around two months of age we found out that Alyssa had coronalsynostosis. Basically, her bones fused shut too early on her right side causing it to grow improperly. Thankfully, the Lord gave us wisdom, after being told not to worry about it, to get a second opinion. She was able to have endoscopic surgery at 3 months of age. If we would have waited like we were told then she would have had more of a major surgery. She has recovered wonderfully and her development is right on. She will have to wear a helmet until the doc. gives the okay to take it off. She has adjusted well to it and really hates to have it off. Aaron and I had our ups and downs through it all, but the Lord was good and sent encouragement just when we needed it. We have made new friends with those who have gone through the same thing and have encouraged each other. We have also been able to be a witness to those we come in contact with and the LAB workers.

Drew, our two year old, is getting bigger every day. He loves to wrestle and fight with daddy, but is still mommy's little buddy. He enjoys reading and having school almost every day. He knows his ABC's, vowels, how to count, colors, and can read some 3-letter words. Baking with mommy is his specialty (I think he likes to lick all the frosting off the spoons rather than helping). We thank the Lord he has been a healthy little boy.

Aaron and I so desire to raise our children to have soft hearts towards the things of God. We realize the responsibility we have to teach them the word of God (Deut. 6:6-7).

Aaron is still teaching in West Seneca at a school for troubled kids and it has been neat to see some of the small opportunities he has to be a witness. I am so thankful for the strong husband I have and the strong stand that he takes. The Lord is definitely good ALL THE TIME!!
