I love a good deal!

Today, I took Drew shopping for church shoes. Now, this is an event Drew hates. If there is anything he would rather not do, it's shopping. Alyssa, on the other hand, loves to go. She decided to ask daddy last night after church if he would take her shopping.

Believe it or not, I haven't had to buy shoes for Drew but maybe one time. My brother's boy, Brandon, is just a year older than Drew and thankfully we get all the clothing when he outgrows them. It is such a HUGE blessing! Anyhow, we headed out for the task of finding shoes. I had $20 in Kohl's shopping money and decided I would go there. I found a pair for him but they said they were $30. I wanted to get them free and after about 5-10 minutes of thinking about it, and Drew asking when are we going to be done shopping, I thought, OK, I will fork over $10 for them. Aaron wanted me to pick up a kitchen utensil which had to be a certain brand (he loves to cook). I found it at Kohl's, but for $20 marked down to $15. It pained me to buy that for such a little utensil but you gotta know my husband and his kitchen things. So, I got to the counter and PTL the shoes were down to $18 which meant with my Kohl's money they were FREE, the kitchen utensil was marked down a couple of dollars and I ended up paying $13 and some change for both.

On another note, our pastor's wife is not doing well. She had a heart transplant about 10 years ago. This past September she went for her yearly check-up down in AL and they found one of her arteries clogged. They tried to put a shunt in it but couldn't, so they sent her home. They called a couple weeks ago and said there was a doctor who felt he could get this shunt in her. She flew down this past week, but it failed again. She is home now but very weak and unable to really walk. Pastor told us yesterday they aren't sure if she is bleeding internally or not.

Miss Pam is one of the most caring, sweetest, and godly woman I know. She is always thinking of others and is a true servant. Aaron and I have learned so much from our pastor and Miss Pam. They believe firmly in their standards and convictions, but are so compassionate and have a heart for others. They have such a vision for the lost and giving up on someone is not an option, no matter what they have done. Our kids love them to death. There is not a single service that goes by that if Pastor's office door is open, they run in to give him a big hug. We are praying hard that the Lord would strengthen Miss Pam and get her well again.
