Yesterday was my Dad's 60th birthday. Drew was excited to call him first thing in the morning. He associates birthdays with having cake and getting presents. It took me some time to try and explain to him that Papa would be the one getting presents and not Drew. Papa Behrens loves the grandkids and spoils them to death. If you ever ask Drew where Papa is he always says, preachin'. He knows Papa preaches from the Bible and tells people about Jesus. I am so thankful that my children have Christian grandparents on both sides. We never have to worry about what kind of influence they are receiving from them.
Today it snowed here. Drew was ecstatic about the snow and wanted to go out and play first thing this morning. I am not a cold weather person. I would rather be in the hot sun swimming in a pool. I did my motherly duty though and took him out, after he helped me with some chores around the house. He rode in his sled that Papa bought him and then he always likes to walk in the tracks that it makes pretending he is a train. Drew was Thomas the Tank Engine and I was Big Red James. I could only last about an hour so we came in and had some hot chocolate and brownies. I have a busy afternoon and we have church tonight. Drew and I are going to make some homemade rolls. Alyssa just keeps us company as she babbles away in her bouncy.
