What A Blessing!

We had a great time at church last night and it was very encouraging. We had heard about this church from another pastor about a month or so ago. Since he knew we were looking he said that there was a church much closer to our house that we might want to try. He told us the pastor just moved to NY in June and took over this church that has had some problems. We didn't give it much thought and then we received a knock on our door and it was this pastor out door to door soulwinning. Ironically, he is a graduate of the same college Aaron went to, but went about 10 years earlier. So, last night we decided to give it a shot. We found out that when this pastor arrived the church consisted of about 12 people and now the Lord, through this man's obedience of the Word of God going door to door, has given him 30-35 regular people. There is still much growing to do and moving the church in the right direction, but we were so blessed to see an excited, but humble pastor reaching not only our little village, but the surrounding areas, as well. It is a small church, but active in it's soulwinning, has ladies groups, and teen activities which are centered around the Word of God. Prayerfully, they would like to have a VBS this summer, as well. We know a church isn't about numbers, but when you see it growing because of a faithful man obeying God's command it's exciting and refreshing. We aren't for sure if this is where the Lord is leading us. A good plus for us, as well, is it's only 5-7 minutes away. We are in much prayer and seeking guidance from the Lord.

We know now what it feels like, as a parent, to feel so proud of your children. Lately, we have been trying to teach Drew what sin is and who the devil is. He knows about Jesus, not that he totally understands, but that Jesus loves him and died on the cross. Now, you have to know Drew. We have been really trying to deal with him on some things and he is a VERY strong- willed little boy. We have been teaching him that the devil likes when he disobeys and does bad things and that he should tell the devil, NO. He knows some short little verses and we try to use those when he does wrong and tell him Jesus is sad. Last night at church the pastor's wife was in the nursery and we came to get Drew. Right away she told us how good Drew was and could tell we were working with him. What a sense of pride we had that are work and much prayer was doing some good. We praised Drew and he was so proud of himself. We all went to bed and around 3a.m. Drew came in the room and crawled in our bed. I woke up and he started talking about church how he was a good boy and that he told the devil, NO, and beat the devil up and made Jesus happy. What a blessing even at 3 a.m.
