school today

At school today, we took the kids to see a presentation on Rachel Scott, the first girl to die in the attack on Columbine High School in 1999. Rachel's sister presented, and the person she showed Rachel to be touched all of us. In her journals, Rachel spoke of kindness and compassion, and her short life exemplified Christ in her attitude of love toward others. The kids were visibly affected and they talked of what they experienced the rest of the day. As I reflect, I am reminded both of the brevity of life and the mission we all have to share Christ's love while we are here.
