Mother's Day!

Happy Mother’s Day! I am so thankful for the mother the Lord gave me. She is my mom and my best girlfriend. There are few days that go by that we don’t chat on the phone with each other about our day, share our blessings with each other, give one another encouragement, and pass along stories of what the dear grandkids have been up too. My mom is a prayer warrior and someone whom I admire deeply. Every morning growing up, I knew that I would find her sitting on the living room couch reading her Bible and praying for us. She is a person who is always serving others.

She loves teaching. Not only does she strive to help her students excel academically, but she also tries to reach their hearts. I will never forget dating in college; someone once told me that I shouldn’t want a relationship like my parents or be like my mother. Well, I lived in the home and personally witnessed the love and respect my mom had for my dad and the helpmeet that she was to him. She is my role model and definitely someone I want to pattern my life after.

Besides being a great mom, she is also a wonderful grandmother. She is one tough grandma, though J (Papa is the softy!). Grandma loves the kids and enjoys spending time with them. When she is with them she takes the time to read with them, tells them stories, or gets her old bus games out and plays with them. Thanks for being a great grandma! We love you so much!
