Thankful

My MIL took the kids yesterday for a walk and garage sale shopping. As she was out someone asked her about Alyssa and why she had to wear her helmet. My MIL proceeded to tell her and after she was finished the woman told her that her sister had the same thing but many years ago and she ended up retarded and her face deformed because they didn't have the modern technology they do now. Aaron and I were both talking last night and thanking the Lord that He gave us wisdom to catch this early and for the medicine and treatment that has allowed Alyssa to progress the way she has. We are thankful for Dr. Li, her surgeon, and are continuing to pray for complete healing and no more problems in the future. The pictures we take without her helmet are usually after she gets a bath and we have to let her hair dry before putting it back on so we take advantage of it and click away with the camera. Alyssa would rather have the helmet back on. She is always wanting to rub her head on you when it's off because it's so sensitive and itchy.

We have been doing much work outside landscaping and painting our foundation. I love being outdoors. Drew has been a great helper and Alyssa is great moral support in her stroller talking away to us as we work and stuffing her face with Cheerios.
