A student's letter

As most of you know my husband teaches in a school for troubled kids. The kids love him and Aaron enjoys it very much. A couple of days ago Aaron came home with a letter from one of his seniors. He said when she came to this school she was on every drug possible and her life a mess. Here's what it said:
Dear Mr. Burkhardt,
After two years I have so many things to thank you for and I don't know where to begin. When I first came to the ALC I was a wreck. I didn't know where I was going, I was hanging out with all the wrong people, my fun on the weekends was only consisting of illegal substances and who knows what else. I was, or thought I was a waste. Then came along this english teacher and through many talks and lots of advice he taught me I was worth something better than all I was doing:)

Mr. Burkhardt, for the past two years you didn't just teach me similes and metaphors, you taught me about life. Whenever I needed help or someone to talk to, you were there. I know you don't always agree with my decisions, but no matter what you still listen and you help me through any problem that I may have. And that is more important I think than any vocab lesson in the world.

As far as your classes go, you were the first teacher I ever had that made class fun. I couldn't wait to get to english everyday. You have a unique style of teaching where it's fun but we still learn.

Everything you have done for me has been so much appreciated by not only me but my mom too. She is glad that I found someone great to look up to and I owe a lot of my success to you. You make a big difference in a lot of kids lives, even if they don't say so.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXX

I thank the Lord for my husband and the influence and testimony he is able to have at his work place. He really loves his students and desires to see there lives turned around.

Praise the Lord for his wonderful testimony to those students. Alot of times all they want is someone to listen to them. Keep up the great work Aaron!
