Surprise!

No, I am not pregnant! Do you remember the days when it was just the two of you? Just you and your husband to clean up after, sleeping in, going out to exercise whenever you felt like it, sitting and watching a movie without interruptions? I love my children dearly, but over the past few days, I have been ready to pull my hair out. In fact, if I pulled hair every time I have been frustrated lately, I would be bald right now :-) Alyssa is teething, so she is not her normal bubbly self. Besides being crabby, she has been getting in to everything within reach. If its taking every out of the tissue box, pulling all the CDs out, or messing up all the nicely straightened DVDs, she finds a way to make a mess of it all. Yesterday, the words "no" and "obey" were apparently a foreign language to Drew. When Aaron got home, Grandma took the kids for a little while. Aaron and I took a run and then snuck a walk in since it was just the two of us. When we got home, I get cleaned up and then Aaron decided to hop in the shower. The kids were downstairs playing happily, or so we thought. I finished getting ready for bed and came downstairs and there is Drew, not two feet from the potty, standing over a big, runny pile of poop on our carpet. Alyssa was just crawling around freely. I quickly checked for anything on her and by that time, after hearing my cry, Aaron came running down. Thank the Lord for him because he cleaned it all up for me. Now, Drew is potty-trained, but when he has ice cream, which he did at Grandma's, he has horrible blow-outs. He must have not made it to the potty in time, but we made it very clear to him no to let this happen again. This was not how I wanted to spend the rest of our evening. Kids went to bed early and Aaron and I cuddled on the couch to relax and watched a movie. Aaahh!

I agree with you. Sometimes I do think of those moments without children and what we would do back then. Being frustrated is also another thing I have in commmon with you. Keep your chin up it only gets better with time. As I am told quite frequently patience is a virtue my dear. Love and miss you guys.

I only have four kids and my wife and I have NO IDEA what you are going through. Our five year old gets up before the sun and makes the entire family a full british breakfast. After we all eat, my 2 year old son takes the family Bible and begins leading us in songs and devotions. When we have prayed the morning away, our 4 year old daughter goes to the kitchen and puts on her work apron and begins her list of chores and tells mommy to go take a nap while our oldest daugther (5) watches the almost 1 year old. I go off to work jolly! Upon my return, dinner is ready to go because my two daughters slaved away their afternoon baking for daddy and mommy. We eat...we love...we laugh...we sleep. This is our normal everyday life. What's wrong with you? =) YEAHHHHHHH RIGHTTTTTTTTT...I FULLY UNDERSTAND SISTER!!!! =)
