THANKSGIVING

For Thanksgiving we went to my in-laws house. Just a hop, skip, and a jump next door! My sister-in-law lives only 15 minutes away but it seems like I never see her so it was nice to spend some time with her and see the kids again. Of course, we had to watch the Colts game that night and thankfully they won. On Friday we put up the Christmas tree. Alyssa was more in to everything and mommy won this year by putting white lights on instead of colored! The power we women have over these men:0) Saturday was our first practice for our Christmas play. It was fun and looks like it will turn out well. Drew is Joseph and his friend, Aliza, is Mary. He already knows Luke 2:11 for it and we have been practicing the Christmas songs. He loves Joy To The World. Yesterday in Walmart he started singing it to the fullest in the milk aisle. Alyssa likes singing Away In A Manger and doing the motions with it. She is talking so much now lately. It's hard to believe she is 18 months old here soon. If you ask her if she wants to color she says, no, but if you ask her if she wants to do school (which is coloring) she says, yes. So, coloring to her is school for now.

When I taught in AL. after leaving college, I got to know a couple in the church. They would have my roommate and I over every Tuesday night for supper. Now they are like Papa and Grandma to my kids. This week they got a gift card in the mail for Christmas so Drew is ready to spend it. He was showing me all he wanted in Walmart last night. I was blessed this week to get my front loading washer and dryer. We have gotten to know our tailor lady quite well. She is a Christian and she loves our kids and always goes on how well-behaved they are. They can be little devils at times though, really. Well, it ends up they moved right down from us on our street and they had to downsize. When I had gone in one day she told me she had to sell her front loaders and I perked up. My MIL loves hers and has said she's saved a lot in her water bill because of it. The ones this lady has are the energy saving kind. She proceeded to tell me she was selling both of them with the stands for $500 and they are only 2 years old. I guess, the stands alone are $175 a piece and I know the washer and dryers are expensive. So we ended up purchasing them and I love them. What a blessing!
