Well, it's been quite a weekend. Saturday we had our Christmas play practice at the usual time and then we took the kids along with another family from the church caroling. We had a great time and Drew loved it. He sang out and the old folks just loved him. It was freezing cold out but it was still worth it to be able to hand tracts out and put some joy on others faces. Janelle and Derek came over again at night this time to sleep over. We played chess, checkers, candyland, and balloon volleyball in the house. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard playing balloon volleyball. It was crazy but we all had a lot of fun. We woke up Sunday to the expected snow on the ground but still managed to make it out the door for church. No sooner did we get on the roads did we realize we shouldn't have gone out. We ended up driving to church to tell our Pastor, who was the only one there, that we were turning around and going back home so we weren't stuck on the terrible roads 3 hours later. We dropped Janelle and Derek off at home which they were very sad about. They were hoping to get snowed in at our house, then we headed home. Our evening service and Christmas play was cancelled so we enjoyed the day at Papa and Grandma Burkhardt's house and had Christmas with them. Drew got a Lightning McQueen truck that opens up in to a road and Alyssa got a toy vacuum that sings, says the ABC's, and counts. You can only imagine what they have been playing with the last few days.

Aaron ended up calling off work on Monday due to the weather. It was nice to have him home for the whole day. Tonight Uncle Ben and Aunt Claire our coming over to do Christmas with the kids since we will be leaving Friday. Alyssa is cutting teeth and Drew still has a cough and now a runny nose. Drew was sick about 5 weeks ago and was able to battle it out all except for this cough. We took him in last week and she gave him a mild antibiotic. Well, the medicine is gone and he still has the cough. Our doctor is sending him for chest x-rays just to be sure there is nothing more. He is very active, eating, no fever, and is doing well otherwise. The cough is just so nagging.
