He Keeps us Praying!

I know I have mentioned in the past about my sister and BIL having an orphanage in the Philippines. They have moved to another island now and are still getting things set up for the orphanage. As mentioned before some of the children were taken away from them and weren't allowed to travel to the new island. A couple were put in a Catholic orphanage.

This little guy whom we have come to love so much is, Michael. He was found by a social worker digging in the garbage at the age of 4 and then put in to the orphanage. We have prayed and fasted so much for him. About a year or so ago we wanted to adopt him and thought things could get in the works, but then he was one who was taken away and Joann and Kevin have not been able to find him since.

We have talked to Michael via the internet and shared pictures. He told Joann that he wants to come to America. Drew prays for him everyday and loves him so much. He asked me the other day why it was taking so long for God to answer our prayers. Adopting him at this point seems so impossible. Our main prayer right now is that he will get back to Joann and Kevin so he can be taken care of properly and taught about Christ. Our family supports the orphanage monthly and if we can have a small part in his life that way, then we are at peace with it. If the Lord wants us to have him then we know He will provide and take care of all the little details.

I was able to talk with my sister on Saturday. They have been "out of the loop" for the past 6 months since the move with no internet. She told me that a social worker from the other island saw Michael in the market with his aunt begging for food. He is VERY thin and malnourished. My sister's oldest daughter is getting married and one of the social workers from this island is coming to the wedding. Joann is trying to get in contact with this lady to find Michael's home and try to bring him back to the orphanage. Right now nobody knows where he is actually living. It will be a miracle if this can happen. It is already a miracle that he was able to get out of the Catholic orphanage!

Oh wow! I had no idea. Thank you for letting me know and I will begin to pray in the direction of adoption, too. We serve a God of miracles! :)
