It seems like it has been forever since my last post.
We had a wonderful Christmas with family and it went by way too fast. I was so sad to see them go, but thankful that I was able to spend some time with them. When my parents were in town we pretty much stayed around the house. I think my mom and I went out shopping once and I just loved spending time with her. I enjoyed watching the kids play and tease with Papa as they always do.
Things have settled down now and we are back in the routine of school. Addison will have her surgery on February 2nd which is coming up rather quickly. Two weeks after her surgery she will have to wear a helmet, as our Alyssa did.
Once we had set the date for the surgery we contacted the orthopedics so we could get Addie in right away for her fitting of the helmet. The helmets cost $2,ooo and our insurance pays half of that and we pay the other out of pocket. We were expecting to have to do the same thing with Addie's helmet. Once we began talking to the orthopedic place, Blanche, began telling us of some help we could get. She gave us phone numbers and people to contact. We began right away knowing that things needed to move quickly if we were going to be approved since Addie needed to be fitted before surgery.
Little did we know the Lord had been working all along. Usually this process takes weeks to get going and then be approved for. I met with a lady on Tuesday who explained everything to me and then she had already set up an appt. for us for today with the therapists and Early Intervention. The therapists came today to see how Addie is developing and talk more to us about the program. Addie is doing wonderful in her development and is where she should be. She is probably a little stronger than most babies at a month old. We knew from the beginning she was very strong and know the Lord has made her stronger to prepare her for her surgery.
By the end of our session today we had been approved and Early Intervention will cover the $1,000 we were going to have to pay. The paperwork will be done and everything will be in place by the time we need it. It was such a blessing to us and an answer to prayer!!
We are praying that Addie does not get sick before the surgery. We are also praying that the surgery will go well with a quick recovery and she will not have to have a blood transfusion.
