I haven't been sleeping too well these last several nights and it's starting to wear on me. I am tired and feel like I am starting to get sick. When I can't sleep I usually just lie there and pray for different things. Our pastor's wife has been talking about Prayer in S.S. and it has been such a blessing to me. Yesterday she mentioned how sometimes the Lord will wake us up in the middle of our sleep and tell us to pray and maybe even bring a specific prayer request to mind. Often times we just want to go back to sleep but we should be thankful that the Lord has called upon us. It is also a blessing then to see that prayer whether it be for someone else or yourself answered and you can rejoice in it. This week I have been praying for a friend of mine and her family. The Lord has laid them on my heart as they go through a difficult time.
This weekend was a busy one. Saturday, after I got ready I left for the church to get more tracts to go visiting. I came home and Aaron said that Derek, our teen in the church, had called and wanted to come over. He lives right by the church so Aaron went back and picked him up. Derek is such a great kid and just watches everything Aaron does. He is so good when he comes over and loves playing with the kids. Drew loves having him over too. We then went to the church to practice for our Christmas play and came back home this time with Derek and Janelle. We had some pizza, made a birthday cake for Derek, and then made some dirt cups for our Junior Church class. Our neighbor lady, who we bought our washer and dryer from, gave us a TV and a cherry entertainment center so Aaron and Derek went and picked that up. We didn't need the TV so Derek and Janelle were more than happy to take that. Sunday, of course, was a full day at church. It's Monday now and I need to get out some Christmas decorations for school. They are up in the attic and it's so cold up there I have been putting it off.
